Yesterday, the unthinkable happened....we lost Annabelle's NMSU bear!! Ok, it's not quite that dramatic, but it was a rough night. B went to meet Gus after work so I picked up the girls from daycare and we hung out and played for the evening. B's sister, Chriss, was up in our neck of the woods and stopped in to play with the girls too. They loved it! So, typical night with the Meyer Girls so far....then, it was time for bed. Oh man, I tore the house apart looking for Annabelle's bear. I couldn't find it anywhere. I looked under couches, in every toy bin, under beds, through the clothes hampers, etc. I started to panic. Annabelle was so tired so I had to put her to bed with one of her baby dolls. Not good! She screamed!! So I continued to tear apart the house looking for her bear. She never calmed down so I went in to get her. I opened up her top drawer to get a burp cloth (I had to wipe her face because she was SOAKED with tears!) and to my surprise there was the bear!!!! Annabelle was thrilled. It seems when B was changing her diaper and getting her dressed for school she threw the bear in the drawer and he closed it up unknowingly. I was so relieved to find him and Annabelle was so happy! She hugged him and fell asleep instantly. Moral of the story....Don't let your kids get attached to a stuffed animal! I have a feeling we're going to be packing that poor bear up and shipping it to college with Annabelle.
Annabelle and her Shmoozie Bear. The Shmooze has seen better days. He's very worn, his sweatshirt is starting to fall apart and even after several washes has a smell all his own. ;) She loves that bear and has since the day she got it.
