bath

These girls are a mess! I have no idea how they get so flippin' dirty at school. It's not so much dirty, as their hair is CRAZY when they get home. They usually have wild hair after naps/bedtime, but it seems even worse after school. Do they tease it and aqua net it? Their ponytails are usually falling out, random food stuck in there, and I swear I've found a sticker or two.

I hear quite often how lucky I am that my girls were born with so much hair. Now, I'm certainly not complaining because I do enjoy being able to put their hair in pigtails, ponytails, braids, you name it...heck, we even brought Gwyneth home from the hospital with a big ol' bow in her hair - the girl was born with some hair! Let's be fair though, all this hair can be a bit of work to maintain.  Sometimes there's nothing you can do but just throw them in the tub and start the hair styling all over again.  (I'll save my rantings about their dirty little faces for a future post....)
These big ol' green eyes are new.  Miss Gwyneth was born with blue eyes and they've turned to this very pretty shade of green, like my sister Becky's.
These two are double trouble in the tub. They get a whirlpool going and no one is safe from the inevitable monsoon that follows. Not one inch of the bathroom, or me, remains dry.
They think it is hilarious to drench me. They can't stop laughing when one of them scores the big splash. This usually occurrs when I've become so wet, that I have to call in reinforcements. When their dad enters the bathroom they know they've beat me, wore me down.

Girls, you may have won this bath time battle, but I'm prepared to win the long, long war. When you ask to borrow my car in high school, remember this day. I know I will!

After baths we start into battle #2 - the lotion battle! Granted Colorado is very dry, but there is never enough lotion for these girls. They would use an entire bottle in one sitting if we let them. We have to ration it and I've even found myself using it as a reward. "If you eat all your green beans, you can have some lotion". Who knew that would work?

Anyway, these girls sure do clean up real nice....
