morton's

Poppy and Melissa are in town for a visit and we went out for a wonderful dinner. Guess where? If you need more than one guess than you clearly have not been paying attention! The girls dressed up in their cute new Valentine's outfits and were ready to dine in style.

Please note, Gwyneth's arms up over her head. She was not at all happy with how I styled her hair. She found a rubber band and wanted to put the back up too. Such opinionated girls I have. Did this come from their dad? Not likely or they'd just put on a hat!

It was so great to see my dad and Melissa and I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of my girls. Our meals at Morton's are typically 2 to 3 hours depending on the size of our party. Since it was a week night and just our family we were able to dine in about 2 hours and the girls were wonderful! Melissa brought them each a gift bag of stickers, books, Elmos, tshirts, and stuffed animals which kept them quite entertained. They also made their dadda proud by stuffing themselves with their usuals - mac and cheese and french onion soup. These girls can polish off a bowl of french onion soup! They were treated to berries and ice cream for dessert which Gwyneth gobbled up.

From my earlier posts you may recall we are having some issues with Annabelle going potty and then vomiting in her lap. Well, she finally went at Morton's and didn't throw up! Who knew that Morton's had magic restrooms! This was our first experience dining out with Annabelle since she's been potty trained and she went 4 times - once to play and 3 times to actually go.  I'm calling the evening a success.

Our private room at Morton's. We are definitely spoiled. The girls get to take their babies and coloring books and when they get antsy they get to walk around the table. They spent about 20 minutes just walking in circles giving everyone high fives. We'll take it!

Poppy & Melissa headed back up to Breckenridge after dinner and we headed home. The girls went right to bed and B hooked up my new printer for me. I knew there was a reason I kept that guy around! Stay tuned for a sneak peak of my photo cards. I have to give them a while for the recipients to receive them before I share.

Around 4:30 a.m. I heard the pitter patter of little feet in the hall. Annabelle was running as fast as she could to let me know she needed to use the potty. I got up with her, she ran straight to the potty, and went! Her little eyes were half-closed and she fell right back to sleep. I'm amazed she woke herself up to go! She continues to impress me with the potty training and I have to finally admit the process was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be (honestly, I've been dreading it since I got pregnant with her - I have a really weak stomach!!).
