Off to the Nuggets game for family night. B got the tickets for his birthday and we were so excited to go. A little, ok, a lot!, of snow was not to slow us down.
It was a great game and the girls had such a blast. We had seats close to the court which helps keep them really interested. Gwyneth's favorite part is Rocky, the mascot. She doesn't watch the game, she just makes sure she can see Rocky at all times. He does do some pretty great tricks, all of which I have reminded her she can NOT do at home.
Annabelle's favorite part is the dancers. She loves the costumes. I had a conversation with her earlier about dressing modestly and how she shouldn't wear clothes that show her belly or too much skin because it's disrespectful to herself and no one needs to see her body. I'm quite old-fashioned I suppose when it comes to covering up, but hoping someday she'll appreciate this or perhaps she'll completely rebel and go crazy when she goes to college...ahhhh, the struggles of motherhood. Anyway, after the game she was quite concerned about the costumes on the cheerleaders and if their parents are upset that they dress that way. Oh lordy, how do I answer? I love sarcasm, but not appropriate for this occasion. How do I get myself in to these little chats with this girl? And more importantly how do I dig myself out???
Let's go Nuggets!
What appeared to be a school group was there as the "high five" team. They got to give the Nuggets players high fives as they walked out on to the court. They also received these tshirts. We were walking by as the officials were handing them out and I do believe they thought our girls were part of that group and gave them tshirts too. Or they just thought they were cure. Or they were just being kind. Whatever - we got free tshirts! XL tshirts, but free tshirts. Score!
Rocky just chillin' watching the game.
She really, really loves this guy!
