special helper

Annabelle was special helper at school today, which means she gets to assist the teacher all day and be line leader. The line leader is really the big deal. There is something about being special helper that just allows their inner bossiness to shine!

We've been really busy lately. Extra busy. B volunteered to help cater a dinner for Autism on Saturday so he's been staying after school to help prep. We're very proud of him and we're so glad he's supporting such an important cause. BUT, we are selfish sometimes and we miss him around here.

Today was early release day from school for Annabelle so I scooped her up and was ready to go pick up Gwyneth from preschool when Annabelle requested some "special mommy" time. She looked sad and said she just wanted some time together. Oh crap! Bring on the mommy guilt. I know I've been stretched thin, but when the child has a little tear in her eye and says she needs some one on one time you know you gotta slow down.

Miss Annabelle and I went to paint pottery together and she was so sweet. She was all pleases and thank yous and no sass and I was so glad to have this time with her. She even requested I paint with her, which I never do, so she painted a cat jewelry box and I painted a ring holder. The ring holder will go nicely in our kitchen and maybe I'll lose my jewelry 10 times a day instead of 12. Perfection!

such a great time with my kindergartener

she did such a cute job with the eyes, nose, and ears. Love it!

teaching me how to do crazy eyes. it's a gift really.

this girl is obsessed with cats. thank goodness I'm allergic or we'd probably have a house full of them.

My proud little lady took her Nuggets basketball as show and tell the next day. This was a huge hit, because normally the boys don't really care about what the girls bring in (dolls, trinkets, etc), but a Rocky basketball is a crowd pleaser. She was super proud of that!
