witches

I helped Annabelle with her homework tonight and she added the not so tiny heart to dot her "i". So sassy, so girly, so flippin' Annabelle. (When I was her age, and probably a few years beyond, I cursed my parents for not spelling my name Kelli so I could dot my "i" with a heart. I suppose it's never too late....be on alert for that legal name change in the near future).

 

My book club pick for this month is The Witches by Roald Dahl. I remember loving that book when I was a kid and thought it would be  wonderful to share it with my girls. I AM SUCH AN IDIOT! I have no idea what would possess me to start reading this to them. We made it through the first few paragraphs and I thought it was hilarious, brilliant, and so, so enjoyable.

The girls were terrified! They didn't find the humor in it at all. They are now on the look out for witches. They couldn't/wouldn't go to sleep. Annabelle built a little bed on the floor because she was terrified there were witches under the bed.
