happy birthday to me

ME!!  I've been a Meyer for almost 12 years, but I've still got a little (ok A LOT) of Paz left in me, which means I LOVE BIRTHDAYS! I've toned it down, especially since I've had kids, but I do so enjoy celebrating a birthday.  Hey, who doesn't like a little fuss every now and then? I got more than a little this year. I got a new deck! It was finished just this afternoon. It turned out great. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present. I know we're going to be spending lots of time out there this summer. Bring on the BBQ's!

The girls have not been able to play out in the backyard for a few weeks now. They were happy to spend the evening outside getting reaquainted with their toys. I just lounged on the deck and watched as they played and B made dinner. Sadly, our grill crapped out while he was cooking so I got the 2nd of my new fabulous gifts - a new grill. This may not sound like the most romantic of gifts, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when B grills so we called this a joint gift. He loves to grill and I love to eat the food - win/win!

After dinner B and the girls sang Happy Birthday to me over a pineapple upside down cake -- my favorite!

First thing this morning Gwyneth said "Happy Birthday, Mommy!". That's enough to melt a momma's heart. First thing Annabelle said "It's my birthday next!!!". Well, that makes me pretty darn proud too. I've instilled my love of birthdays in her! They both spent the rest of the day saying happy birthday and hugging me. Can't complain about that.

YaYa finally arrived tonight! Her flight was really really late. She was scheduled to land at 8:45, but didn't get in until 11:00. The girls were so disapointed they didn't get to see her tonight, but lots and lots of fun ahead....
